Our client is an establish NFP committed to supporting victims and resolving conflict. They are looking for a Finance Assistant to join their team. Thisa fantastic role for a candidate looking for part time and fully remote work.
The role will report to a Finance Manager.
Location
Home based.
Must have access to good internet and phone connections
Contract
2- 3 days/week (15-22.5 hours).
Permanent subject to satisfactory probationary period of 6 months.
Flexible working hours subject to meeting reporting deadlines.
Salary and Benefits
Pro rata to full time salary of circa £25k per annum.

Roles, Responsibilities and Person Specification
Payroll
Draft monthly summary of payroll changes.
Upload final version of changes to payroll portal.
Prepare banking information for payment of salaries to employees.
Reconcile payments made with amounts processed in Xero (finance ledger software).
Ensure payment of statutory deductions to HMRC.
Expense Claims
Arrange payment of approved claims.
Process details of claims on Xero including accounting for input VAT that is reclaimable.
Reconcile payments made to details processed on Xero.
Payment of interim claims if required.
Invoices Received
Arrange payment of approved invoices.
Process details of invoices on Xero including accounting for input VAT reclaimable.
Reconcile bank transactions to Xero.
Maintain schedule of dates when main invoices are due for payment.
Invoices Raised
Prepare and send invoices for all contracts together with any other income.
Process details on Xero including accounting for output VAT due to HMRC
Maintain a schedule of dates when invoices are to be raised and payment is due from the Company's main contracts.
Reconcile income received to details processed on Xero.
Follow up outstanding invoices.
Banking
Ensure that bank reconciliations are undertaken at least monthly.
Reconciliation of bank card payments to the bank account.
Setting up details of new employees and external suppliers for payment.
Monitoring cash balances.
Reviewing, periodically, details of former employees and suppliers and deleting as appropriate from the Company's bank accounts.
General
Maintaining all accounting records in the cloud in line with the Company's filing structure.
Ensuring funds are available in the appropriate bank accounts to ensure all payments can be made promptly to all suppliers particularly HMRC.
Ensuring all tasks are completed in accordance with the monthly reporting timetable agreed with the Finance Manager & Director of Corporate Services.

Person Specification
Accounting or book keeping qualifications and/or recent experience of a finance assistant or similar role.
Working knowledge of Xero, the Company's financial ledger system or similar package.
Working knowledge of accounting for VAT.
Maintaining confidentiality of Company records.
Good IT skills.
Able to use own initiative and work independently from home.
Willingness to learn.
Good interpersonal skills.
