Business Description:

My client is a classic car vehicle service centre. They require a full-time Assistant Accountant. You will be reporting to the Directors.

Role Description:

This role requires a person with good experience in Motor Dealership and Services accounting.  The right candidate must be able to work part of a team as well as having initiative to work alone. A good understanding for Sage is necessary. A good telephone manner is vital. This role can be varied, and we would like the candidate to be flexible in its role and may have to perform alternative tasks when asked.

  • Timely, accurate and complete recording of all financial transactions within the company.
  • Maintain complete confidentiality and discretion, and portray a professional appearance, approach and attitude commensurate with the accounting profession.
  • Recording of all cashbook and petty cash transactions, ensuring bank reconciliations are carried out daily.
  • To be responsible for the Sage sales, purchase and nominal ledger processing and reconciliations.
  • To be responsible for the maintenance of the sales ledger, distribution of monthly statements and to assist in respect of credit control.
  • To ensure the accurate recording of costs and income on the vehicle ledgers, and associated reporting.
  • To assist in the preparation of timely financial reports including monthly management reports, trends, budgets and KPIs.
  • To carry out any other accounting duties required for the company to reach its objectives.
  • To assist with any administrative duties required by the company.
  • To be assist in the weekly payroll function and all aspects of the company payroll, PAYE and pension administration.
  • To supervise the accounts department in any training required
  • To carry out other ad hoc duties, that the Directors may require in line with your knowledge and experience.
Experience &
Skills Required:
  • Part Qualified accountant or QBE 
  • Motor industry background 
  • Good knowledge of dealership accounting processes
  • Knowledge of Dragon 2000 accounting system a bonus. 
  • Will have worked at assistant accountant level or equivalent
  • Good IT skills including Microsoft Office
