This is an opportunity for an experienced bookkeeper/ accountant with a practice background to work for an Accountant's firm in Leeds who utilise up to date technology and have an ethos of working together as a team. This position is advertised as permanent part-time and flexibility in working hours will be considered.
You will work with small companies and sole traders to create bookkeeping and accounts, being involved in personal tax, CIS and VAT.
The key duties of the post are as follows:
General book-keeping duties to include; double entry book-keeping; processing sales invoices; receipts and payments; preparation of statements showing income and expenditure; completing VAT returns; preparing wages and processing expenses claims; helping prepare P&L accounts and balance sheets.
Communicate clearly and liaise verbally and in writing between clients/visitors/enquirers and staff, and interpret and respond clearly and effectively to spoken requests over the phone or in person, and to verbal or written instructions.
Manage, organise and update relevant data using database applications.
A proven knowledge of using Business software.
Establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, supervisors and clients.
Maintain regular consistent and professional attendance, punctuality, personal appearance and adherence to relevant health and safety procedures
Relevant Experience.
Experience of working with incomplete records an advantage.
Good verbal and written communications skills.
Demonstrated ability to manage own workload and to work as part of a team.
Demonstrated ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced office setting.
Being Computer literate is essential. Excel and Word experience must be strong. Experience of IRIS Accountancy Software would be preferable, but training can be given.
