Our client is a family run style business that specialises in the supply and service of forklift trucks. They require an experienced Bookkeeper/ Accountant to support the Directors. This position is part-time (approximately 20 hours per week and flexible). 

The successful candidate will work alongside head of accounts. Other roles could be incorporated ultimately potentially resulting in more hours – but all tasks will be admin/accounting/customer service based.


Accounts:

  • Bank reconciliations
  • Post petty cash and reconcile
  • Debtors – Send monthly statements to customers, runs monthly credit/debtors’ reports,
  • Creditors – deals with all invoices, scans onto database, records on Sage software, gains authorisation for payment and prepares remittances ready for payment in a timely manner.
  • Performs month end recs of the bank
  • Prepares quarterly VAT returns
  • Prepares and posts monthly journals as necessary

Payroll:

  • Runs payroll at month end, including all HMRC submissions.
  • Reviews and posts monthly payroll journals.

Pensions:

  • Deals with Starters and Leavers, monthly reporting, and acts as liaison between pension provider and employees.



  • Excellent IT skills and proficient in the use of Sage Accounting including Payroll, Excel and Word.
  • Minimum of 2 years practical experience in a comparable environment.
  • Excellent understanding and practical experience of performing full postings and reconciliations and analysis as basic part of the work.
