This is a great opportunity for an experienced practice accountant with a strong practice background to work for an expanding Accountant’s firm in Southampton, who utilise up to date technology and have an ethos of working together as a team. A competitive salary is available dependant on experience. This position is advertised as permanent full-time but flexibility in working hours or significant part-time will be considered.
• Preparation and review of financial statements from manual or computerised records for all types of entities.
• Taxation computation preparation review and online filing for all types of entities.
• Client financial and management accounting.
• Entry of time and billing and practice management software modules.
• Client liaison and business development.
• Mentoring and guiding junior staff and clients.
• Assist in Credit control and agreement of client billing arrangements and methods of payment.
• Assist in Identification, Implementation and driving KPIs to optimise performance internally
• Migrating clients onto standardised bookkeeping systems and procedures
• Help preparing the business to scale (standardise and formalise systems and procedures)
• Harness technology to improve efficiencies and customer experience
• Attend monthly practice management meetings.
• The successful candidate will likely be ACA/ACCA qualified with PQE.
• Able to autonomously prepare draft financial accounts of all types of entities to a final draft with all minor queries resolved.
• The successful candidate will be able to prepare draft taxation computations of all types of entities to a final draft with all minor queries resolved.
• IT literate – good knowledge of accountancy practice software, Word and Excel. Also, knowledge and use of business software such as Sage, Xero, QuickBooks, etc.
• Excellent communication skills coupled with the ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
• Able to meet strict deadlines; ability to work under pressure and on own initiative.
