Our client are an award winning and thriving Technology company, looking for a Cost Controller to provide support to their busy and friendly Finance team. You will report to the Head of Finance, work alongside the Payroll and Revenue Manager and manage the Accounts Payable Clerk.

The role is permanent with a salary of approx. £47k (negotiable) plus benefits including private health, pension and life assurance. The role can be done with a 50/50 split of remote / office working.

Cost management & controls

• Responsible for the accurate recognition of Cost of Sales and Overheads.
• Perform cost analysis for all products & services sold.
• Active management of overheads, whilst seeking out areas for saving efficiencies
• Play an active part in reviewing our current internal controls & procedures, suggesting improvements when needed.
• Oversee & manage Accounts Payable, ensuring invoices are dealt with timely and creditors paid as per the agreed payment term.
• Reconciliations of our recurring costs as well as supplier statements
• Responsible for Expenses and Credit Card spend.

Preparation of accounts

• Assist with the preparation of timely and accurate monthly management accounts and associated reports for monthly Board meetings.
• Ensure the cost accuracy and integrity of the OryxAlign’s accounting records and financial systems.
• Reporting & analysis of historical & projected data.

Budgets & forecasts

• Providing support in the preparation of budgets & reviewing forecasts.
• Assist in the preparation of the Cash-Flow forecast.

Taxation

• Ensure returns for Corporation tax, VAT and other relevant taxes are submitted, payments made on time and all relevant regulations are complied with.
• Providing knowledge & expertise on tax related queries

General

• Carry out any further tasks for which your qualifications & experience are suited as directed by the Company

To be successful in this role you’ll need.

• +7yrs Accounting experience (preferably in the IT sector.)
• Deep knowledge of UK Accounting Standards.
• Good taxation knowledge.
• Be Excel proficient.
• Knowledge of Xero.
• Pay attention to detail, be proactive and resilient and a problem-solver.

Desirable:

• Knowledge of ConnectWise.
• Part-Qualified Chartered Accountant (ACCA or CIMA)
