Our client is an established and award-winning independent insurance broker and is continually extending its operations. They now require a financial analyst for a period up to 6 months with a possible view to a permanent appointment; initially you are required to assess the insurance and non-insurance product lines to see which are the most profitable and where the Company should focus its efforts. You will report to the CFO and work alongside all departments to ensure accurate and complete data. The Company is expanding into international markets with which they will need assistance. The Company uses the Xero accounting system which is also used by the broker and the affiliated repair (appliances) company.
Finance Operations lead. This includes reviewing and validating the periodic sales and associated costs.
Review the preparation and posting of month end journals and monthly income and costs reconciliations.
Reviewing and assessing new products and customer journeys to understand whether they impact calculations and reporting.
First point of contact for both Internal and External Audit.
Data Analysis each month to ensure the completeness and accuracy of data being used to calculate the Financial adjustments.
Work with internal employees as a point of contact and subject matter expert for accounting requirements.
Handle complex information requests.
Encourage and drive a continuous process improvement culture to create further efficiencies within the Company in order to meet challenging objectives.
Recommend ideas and help implement improvements to processes cross functionally and/or within own role area.
Provide support and input for Products and their impact on the Sales Margin.
The ideal candidate will possess strong financial and analytical capabilities with good commercial instincts - enjoy analysing business performance and will specifically can convey complex information clearly and concisely to senior management. An ability to demonstrate process improvement or change would be desirable
Part/Newly qualified (e.g. CIMA or equivalent) ideally with relevant business experience
Customer service orientated
Team player with positive attitude
Experience in driving change and process re-engineering
Experience in dealing with multiple demands from various areas of the business and various levels of seniority
Ability to challenge the status-quo in a mature and sophisticated manner
