Our client are a supplier of healthcare based products based in Leicestershire. 

They are looking for an Admin & Accounts Assistant to join their team. This person will be the first point of contact for visitors and customers (in person, online and via telephone) so it is essential that they assist in maintaining a positive and friendly company image. It is also essential that this person is able to work in a team and manage administrative tasks and accounting tasks alongside one another.

Whilst they have an administrative team and an accounting team, we are looking for a proactive individual to supplement both.

The role is full time but there is flexibility with regards to the hours worked (they may consider someone 4 days per week or 5 days reduced hours e.g around school times)


Accounts Assistant Job Duties:

  • Assistance with general bookkeeping.
  • Ensures all inbound purchase orders are entered onto internal systems correctly.
  • Able to assist with purchase ledger entries and reconciliations.
  • Able to assist with debt collection. Including reviewing of aged debt and chasing late payments.
  • Completes standard business reporting and emails reports to the business daily.
  • Manage, organise and update relevant data using database applications.
  • If possible, taking Accounts to Trial Balance for external Accountants to review

Administrative Assistant Duties:

  • Act as a point of contact for all direct customers who wish to place an order over the telephone.
  • Have an interest and become knowledgeable about the products available.
  • Have the ability to take orders and process payments accurately.
  • Ensure all Invoicing is processed and sent to the customers on the day of shipment.
  • Deal with ad-hoc queries.
  • Assist with the office filing.


Ideally, this person will be AAT qualified/ACCA part qualified or qualified by experience, and not wishing to pursue their studies any further.

Accounts Assistant Key Skills:

  • Exceptional communication and customer service skills.
  • Strong computer skills - Including high proficiency with Microsoft Office programs.
  • Prior office management experience preferred.
  • Accurate record keeping essential and good attention to detail.
  • Ability to work without supervision.
  • Excellent time management skills, along with the ability to prioritise and organise tasks effectively.
  • Ability to multitask.

Working Hours and Renumeration

  • Monday to Friday
  • 9am to 5pm
  • 37.5hrs per week
  • 20 Days holiday (excluding Bank Holidays) rising to 25 days with service.
