Our client is an established and award winning independent insurance broker who is continually expanding its operations. They require an experienced bookkeeper/ financial assistant part time for approximately 18 hours a week , but they are flexible with how the hours are worked. The successful applicant will report to the CFO and run the day to day bookkeeping function. The Company uses Xero, and the successful applicant will need to be be proficient with this software. 



  • Bank reconciliations (from Xero direct feeds),
  • Input and correct categorisation of invoices and company credit card transactions
  • Payroll and Nest
  • VAT (group partial basis) submissions.
  • Monthly/ quarterly Management accounts
  • Year end work



  • Previous experience of insurance broking is an advantage but not essential
  • a bookkeeping or accountancy qualification is preffered but qualififed by experience will be considered
  • Book-keeping experience essential with cloud-based packages (xero) preferred
  • IT literate
  • Able to work unsupervised in the day to day function
  • Self-motivated and good at prioritising
  • Able to work under pressure
  • Good team player
