Our client is a small vehicle dealership based in Merseyside. They require a new Company Accountant to oversee the day to day finance function of the company.

This role requires a hands on person who is prepared to roll their sleeves up and get stuck in. The accounts team has grown in a slightly ad hoc way and need’s a strong candidate to come in and help to improve and modernise the accounting function as the company grows.

This role would suit a strong Accountant who has aspirations to grow with the company to become the FC / FD OR a very experienced candidate at FC / FD level who is looking for a no 1 role in a smaller company.

• Overseeing the Accounts / Bringing together the accounts
• To maintain and review current KPI trends across the Group
• Manage the existing finance team - ensuring accuracy and completeness of all day to day processing
• To provide up to date Financial Analysis of Sales and after sales
• Producing & maintaining financial & management accounts.
• Strong Bookkeeping skills
• Credit control (chasing late accounts in conjunction with Sales dept.)
• Payroll (SAGE)
• Keep secure Company information & property
• Paying non-trade debtors - HMRC, utility companies, outsourced payroll/IT etc
• Maintaining an asset register
• Sales ledger and Purchase ledger
• Reconciling cash book & bank accounts
• Producing stock valuations
• Be able to work to deadlines with accuracy
• Liaise with other members of staff where necessary
• Processing staff expense claims
• Supporting the Directors with information & data, as required

• Experience in similar roles and a can do attitude
• Someone who can deal with hands on issues
• Knowledgeable all-rounder
• Good communication and interpersonal skills at all levels
• Strong IT skills (SAGE is a must have)
• Motor Trade experience would be beneficial (Company uses SAGE and Dragon 2000)
