Our client is a holding company with 3 principal businesses involved in Publishing & Publications. They require a new Financial Controller as part of the operation to report to the Group FD (£11.m turnover).

The start date is ASAP and so the role can be Interim, Interim to Perm or Perm in 3-6 months depending on availability.

There is currently a significant backlog of accounting work & reporting to be done in the business and precious little in the way of in-depth training available so perseverance is a must.

The main office location is in the Bedfordshire but some working from home also available.

Role in Summary

  1. Provide financial reporting and analysis to support the management team in controlling business performance and evaluating operational and strategic plans and options.
  2. Maintenance and continued development of a system of financial procedures and business controls which ensure that company assets are safeguarded, reported information is accurate and that the company complies with all relevant statutory and regulatory requirements.
  3. Manage the company’s Treasury requirements in respect of cash flow, foreign currency and short term investment of surplus funds.
  4. Contribute to the development of the company through active participation in all aspects of the business as a member management team.

  • Be able to work independently and be prepared to get stuck in. 
  • Extensive experience with Sageline 200 is essential. 
  • Knowledge of MS Access desirable
  • Macros in Excel and any SQL skills would be a bonus.
