An opportunity has arisen for a Senior Accountant position at a thriving practice in Edgbaston, Birmingham. Clients range from small one-man band self-employed individuals to small to medium limited companies and a full compliance service.

The successful candidate will assume responsibility for preparation of Business, including Limited Company accounts, with all but major queries resolved. The candidate will be expected to prepare the taxation computations of the businesses. Experience of audit assistance and completion would be an advantage but not necessary. The candidate will manage workflow, quality and ensure the work is completed within practice deadlines.

The successful candidate will have a proven track record in an accountancy practice. Knowledge in all matters relating to small business limited company accounts preparation and corporation tax would be essential. Additionally, experience of other taxes such as personal taxation, VAT and the Construction Industry Scheme among others would be a significant advantage.

The candidate would benefit from experience of accountancy software packages and have a working knowledge of Excel, Sage 50, QuickBooks and Xero packages.

The candidate will have the personal qualities to engage actively with staff and clients.

Additional duties will be allocated as and when they become necessary.
