Our client, a Healthcare Clinic (with over 100+ nationwide clinics) requires an Interim Accountant / Financial Controller to work in a sole accounting position on an initial 3-4 month contract.

They are approx. a £2.5m turnover business and the role would be ideally be based with access to Greenwich or Hitchin and reports to the wider Group Company CFO based in Denmark.

There is the possibility of an interim to perm role for the right candidate. Longer term the plan is to bring the external Accounting function in house and this role will prepare the plan for that transition.


Key Responsibilities

  • Ensuring that transactions are correct and up to date
  • Reconciling Purchase / Sales Orders
  • Liaising with external accounting firm
  • Ensure compliance with HMRC and other appropriate legislation requirements.
  • Management accounts / Month end Reporting
  • Month end forecasting
  • Cash flow
  • Group reporting
  • Ensure that the financial records are accurate and complete 
  • Monitor and analyse monthly operating results against plan and provide guidance and advice. 
  • Recommend benchmarks for measuring the financial and operating performance of departments. KPI’s / Statistics 
  • Ensure compliance with HMRC and other appropriate legislation requirements.
  • Ensure company compliance by developing controls and protocols
  • Carry out audits and reviews of internal controls and provide recommendations for procedural improvements.
  • Establish and implement short- and long-range departmental goals, objectives, policies, and operating procedures.
  • Other duties as assigned by the CFO

  • Can hit the ground running & work autonomously
  • Capable of working as a Sole Accountant
  • Knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, and cost control principles including UK Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
  • Knowledge of automated financial and accounting reporting systems. 
  • Ability to analyse financial data and prepare financial reports, statements, and projections. Working knowledge of short and long term budgeting and forecasting, rolling budgets, and product-line profitability analysis.
  • Work requires professional written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to produce quality materials within tight timeframes 
  • Ability to participate in and facilitate group meetings.
  • Work requires willingness to work a flexible schedule.
