An Engineering company in Banbury are looking for an accountant to replace the current encumbent who is due to retire in the spring. A good handover would be ideal , hence the need for an immediate start. This role will support the General Manager, finance department and management team by completing routine clerical and accounting tasks. Preparing budgets, maintaining reports, and completing accounting duties for the company
Month End reporting
Cashflow forecasting
Balance sheet reconciliations
VAT reconciliations and returns
Purchase Ledger
Sales Ledger
Business expenses
Ensure financial records are accurate and complete
Work with the General Manager to ensure that financial information is clearly understood and assist in the development of the business
Manage the accounts and sales team in the General managers absence ( Vacations etc)
AAT Qualified or equivalent
Knowledge of the accounts package Access Dimensions would be an advantage but training will be given
Proficient with MS Office - Excel and word is essential
Experienced with balance sheet account preparation
Strong accountancy skills
Good understanding of budgetary principles
Good communicator
Proactive and self motivated
Able to occassionally lead a team
