A Health care sector business, with offices in London and Manchester,is looking for an Executive Assistant to the board of directors. Reporting to the MD and the senior management team the ideal candidate will support the directors across the business, including their research work in academia, industry, and the UK government on key projects. The post holder will provide right hand support to the board and will be heavily involved and trusted across all work and levels. This will involve but not be limited to; strategic projects, brainstorming, researching, preparing presentations, and attending conferences. This is a hugely diverse and involved lynchpin role that will provide plenty of scope and opportunity.


The suitable candidate will be experienced in administration and responsibility across a wide range of subject matters with good business acumen. Excellent IT skills are a prerequisite and a desire to work with a wide range of applications. Working with limited supervision, you will liaise with the board regularly and be part of the wider team.

  • To provide excellent organisation and senior administrative support; meeting arrangements, draft agendas, email inbox management (acting as first response where appropriate), managing filing systems etc.
  • Project coordination under direction: project plan preparation, liaising with external stakeholders, meeting arrangements, monitor progress on tasks.Build and manage relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Draft presentations, speeches and prepare documents.
  • Attend meetings, take notes, track actions
  • Build confidence, knowledge, and experience to be able , in time, to represent the board in key meetings.
  • Research and analysis, building on ideas that are generated and developing into a format where they can be presented and finalised.
  • Management of content on multiple websites.
  • Problem solving, finding creative solutions, trouble shooting and being proactive.



  • Degree or equivalent, preferably in scientific area
  • Experience of working in a fast-paced environment, demonstrating professionalism and courtesy at all times, working to deadlines
  • Experience of working with personal, sensitive, and confidential matters with discretion
  • Experience of developing and maintaining strong team working relationships and a willingness to suggest and adapt to new ideas
  • Highly proficient with MS Office suite and their use e.g., MS Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Teams, and Internet Browsers
  • Knowledge and experience of EndNote or similar document management system
  • Experience or ability to use Social Media applications and explore freely available software to utilise for projects
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills and the ability to work with under pressure to meet tight deadlines.
  • An ability to communicate effectively with clients and colleagues using a variety of verbal, written and electronic formats, demonstrating an excellent standard of written and spoken English.
  • Self-motivated, positive, flexible, quick thinking and able to use own initiative.
