We have an exciting role for an experienced Finance assistant to join a well established IT and management services company in Sheffield. The role can be part time or full time , but with a minimum of 20 hours a week, 4 hours per day.
The role will involve working closely with the Finance/Office Manager to establish and maintain appropriate accounting procedures for the business and its small group of clients as well as assisting with the day to day office administration tasks.
You will take increasing responsibility for;
Processing the purchase ledger invoices and credit notes – dealing with supplier queries
Processing the sales ledger invoices and credit notes – keeping on top of recurring invoicing and dealing with customer queries
Credit control
Cashbook postings
Completing Bank reconciliations
Preparing quarterly VAT returns
Daily cash flow management and forecasting
Assisting in preparation of monthly payroll
Assisting with month end processing
Assisting with Year End processes
Inter-company and Balance sheet reconciliations
Ad-hoc exercises and on-going financial modelling (forecasting)
Assistance with personnel management; holiday requests, sick leave recording, following up periodic staff reviews, apprentice progress monitoring
Assisting with recruitment and induction logistics
General administration, answering phones and back-office support
Minimum AAT Level 3 or above
Solid understanding of bookkeeping, accounts payable and receivable, and cash flow principles
