We have an exciting opportunity for a Finance assistant who is interested in working for an award winning company in the construction industry. This job would suit either an experienced Purchase Ledger Clerk or an entry level Accounts Clerk with excellent attention to detail and a real desire to learn who will be responsible for assisting the Finance Manager to resolve internal, external and AP system related queries and will include liaising with suppliers and internal contacts. This can be a full time or part time position, minimum 3 days per week. Freelance candidates are also welcome to apply as this could be worked on a rolling contract

The successful candidate will have previous Purchase Ledger experience and experience working within an office environment. The personality and willingness to get involved with whatever comes along will be essential.

  • Input supplier invoices into Sage Line 50 software
  • Supplier account reconciliations
  • Manage payment runs
  • Bank Reconciliations
  • Liaise with suppliers
  • Assist with month end close down
  • Reconcile supplier queries

  • Qualified Bookkeeper is preferred ( AAT / ICB etc) – will consider QBE or a studier
  • Previous experience in the construction industry would be an advantage
  • Good accounting software knowledge and experience - Sage line 50 is essential
  • Experienced Excel user and proficient in other MS Office products
  • Proactive and self-motivated with excellent system skills
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Excellent organisation and time management to ensure deadlines are met
  • Able to work on your own as well as part of the team
