Award winning company operating in retail and professional markets of electrical products. Based on strong foundations the company is now moving into a growth face and is looking for a finance professional to work as a partner alongside the executive team on execute on their plan.
Reporting: The Financial Controller will report to the CEO and work closely with the Board.
The business are Private Equity owned and ideally the right candidate will be able to work in the Chelmsford office and be prepared to do 1 day per week (every 2 weeks) in London. The role offers flexible / remote working.
A qualified accountant with a minimum of 5 years PQE, familiar with working in a fast paced environment as a member of a team, with a solutions orientation and demonstrable track record of contributing to as well as managing change. Must be able to take full ownership and accountability of tasks, have strong time management skills and understand the need to meet deadlines.
Oversee the financial affairs of the organisation and ensure they are legal, constitutional and within accepted accounting practice in UK, Europe and other jurisdictions as required
Oversee the various reporting related software systems and ensure their smooth functioning
Ensure proper records are kept and that effective financial procedures are in place
Monitor and report on the financial health of the organisation
Oversee the production of necessary financial reports/returns, accounts and audits.
Oversee all financial transactions and fundraising efforts
Liaise with relevant staff, committee members and/or volunteers to ensure the financial viability of the organisation
Make fellow stakeholders aware of their financial obligations and take a lead in interpreting financial data to them
Regularly report the financial position at stakeholder meetings (balance sheet, cash flow, fundraising performance etc)
Oversee the production of and update multi-year forecasts and propose its adoption at the last meeting of the previous financial year
Monitor actual performance versus these forecasts and analyse significant deviations to be communicated to management
Ensure proper records are kept and that effective financial procedures and controls are in place
Accounting training
