This family run business was established in 1845 and provides its services across the whole of the north of England and up to southern Scotland too. The business has three sites but this role will be based at the Head Office in Workington.
The company is looking for an experienced payroll and accounts Clerk to join a team of five accounts staff. This is a full time role, 40 hours per week. The working hours are 8:30am-5pm with half an hour for lunch.
Monthly payroll processing:
Checking time and attendance data, liaising with managers to solve any problems or queries
Transferring information from the time and attendance system on to the payroll software
Processing starters and leavers, sick pay, holiday records etc.
Running the payrolls for group businesses, (250 staff)
Filing required HMRC records
Ensuring statutory calculations are correct
Accounts:
Assisting the team to process all financial transactions accurately and on time
Inputting payments and invoices, maintenance of the purchase ledger, preparing payment files
Bank reconciliations
Credit checks and credit control
Any other general administrative duties or office work associated with the above and any aspect of relevant accounts support as necessary
Payroll experience is essential
A bookkeeping or accounting qualification would be an advantage
Experience of using SAGE payroll and SAGE 50 is essential
