Our client,a luxury cotswolds Hotel based in Malmebury, is looking for an experienced FC to join their team. Benefiting from a broad brief, the Financial Controller will be accountable for all financial aspects of the Company to include the production of monthly management reports, maintenance of an adequate system of accounting
records and a comprehensive set of controls and budgets designed to mitigate risk, enhance the accuracy of the company's reported financial results, and ensure that reported results comply with reporting standards.
Responsible for the company’s day to day cash controls and finance environment
Monitor and control the Company’s cash flow and ensure adherence to banking covenants
Process all invoices, complete the monthly pay run for suppliers and reconcile all statements
Run, manage and maintain the payroll process and pension and healthcare provision for employees
Ensure that monthly management accounts are prepared accurately and within given time scales and presented monthly to the Proprietors and General Manager
Complete quarterly VAT returns in line with HMRC regulations
Manage and develop the budgetary control system
Ensure that appropriate financial and auditing controls are maintained
Maintain the hotel’s finance system and accounting records
Implement where practical, best practice systems for efficiency and cost controls, driving improvement in the accounting/office systems (including IT supported and manual processes)
Ensure that records are maintained and that documentation is accurate whilst promoting data confidentiality both internally and externally to operate within GDPR regulations
Design and operate reporting systems for all financial and operational matters in conjunction with business managers
Ensure compliance with reporting and payment deadlines for all tax regimes
Ensure adequate insurance cover exists to cover all known business risks
Comply with Health and Safety legislation and procedures
Qualified Accountant (ACCA or CIMA)
Good level of technical accounting knowledge
Advanced IT skills – including Microsoft Office, Suite 8, SAGE Payroll, SAGE 50
Three to four years’ experience in a similar role is essential, although not necessarily within the same industry
