This London law firm is looking for an experienced bookkeeper/legal cashier to join their team on a part time basis. This role can be worked on a contract,temp to perm, or permanent basis depending on the candidate. There is also good flexibility on how the hours are worked, either over three full days or spread over four or five days. Remote working is on offer with the occassional trip in to the office for meetings, they have offices in Hammersmith and Bloomsbury.

The firm focuses on commercial, corporate and employment law with a special interest in technology. They are looking for an experienced Finance admin person with some legal cashier experience to take full responsibility for the invoicing and accounts as well as helping the firm move to Xero. The role requires extensive expertise in the production and updating of Excel spreadsheets and data reporting and analysis within the firm. As well as exceptional Excel skills, the role may also need to be involved in some document production for the firm, and so strong Word skills are desirable.

This is a role that requires someone with a strong work ethic, who is an exceptional problem solver with excellent numeracy skills and who is comfortable working in a dynamic and virtual workplace.

  • Raising bills 
  • Helping ensure the team accurately enter their time on Clio for all billable and non-billable matters 
  • Producing weekly productivity reports and month end reports for management in Excel
  • Being responsible for moving the company onto Xero and setting it up so that it works effectively for the firm
  • Producing analysis reports and other financial reports as required
  • Implementing regular cash flow reporting and working on accruals
  • Support with compliance duties such as conflict checks, AML checks
  • Assisting with the production of management accounts and cashflow documents
  • Assisting with other ad-hoc general data and finance requirements
  • Being responsible for bank reconciliations, reviewing and posting disbursements
  • Providing support and working closely with the Practice Manager and the Partners of the firm
  • Day-to-day document production, when required
  • Filing of documents within Clio, our practice management system, as required
  • Providing support for all members of the firm

  • Experience of working in a law firm desirable but not essential
  • Minimum of 5 years bookkeeping experience is essential
  • Extensive Excel knowledge to include creating multiple-billing worksheets with advance formulae (experience of pivot tables and automated reporting
  • Ability to produce financial reports
  • Knowledge of Xero essential and any experience of moving a company onto Xero and setting it up to work efficiently for the firm would be an advantage
  • Strong knowledge of Clio and SmartSearch an advantage
