A long established Construction Company based in Fulham is looking for an experienced Finance Manager to join their team. Reporting to the Managing director this roles main purpose is to manage, control and implement all financial functions, providing timely and accurate reports and prepare year-end accounts for audit so that sound planning and management can take place to maximise performance within the framework of legal compliance. Working hours Mon-fri 9am-5pm -35 hour week
Manage all financial and accounting functions and routines, supervise a small accounts team
Responsible for and oversee Purchase Ledger, Sales Ledger, Construction Industry Scheme routines and Payroll.
Credit control: Ensure prompt payment by debtors, liaise with operational departments re late payments & initiate recovery procedures as required.
Maintain Sales Ledger including producing sales invoices
Cash management
Monthly Management Accounts
Prepare budgets and projections as required
Interim & annual tax payment by statutory deadlines
VAT Reconciliation, returns & payment before deadline
Manage issues arising from non-standard VAT rates on contracts
Bank liaison (in consultation with Managing Director)
Submit Construction Industry Training Board annual return and deal with payment of resulting levy.
Manage Integrity Accounting software in conjunction with software supplier.
Companies House returns
External Accountants liaison
Statutory DTI Reporting
Preparation of end-of-year accounts for audit
With Office Manager & MD, arrange insurances with the company’s broker
Check Sub-Contractor Applications
Prepare weekly sub-contract payment batches, including payment by both BACS and cheques.
Deal with routine queries arising from sub-contract accounts.
Provide holiday & absence cover for colleagues on Purchase Ledger and Payroll
Other similar office routines as required from time to time.
Qualified /Part Qual CIMA/ ACCA / AAT ( Min Level 4) or similar
Solutions orientated, able to problem solve
Minimum two years in a similar role
Strong accounting systems experience
Excellent communication skills.
High numeracy and sound technical skills
Problem-solving skills and initiative.
