Our client is an Engineering business that are looking for a part time Finance Manager / Senior Bookkeeper to join the business (approx £1.5m turnover). 

This is a sole charge role (including all transaction processing) and the plan is to bring the finance function (currently outsourced) back in house, which will also involve setting up a new system in Xero or Sage. There is the possibility for a full time position which would involve splitting the time between the PE owner and the business for the right candidate.

It is estimated that the role will be required for 2-3 days per week and involves hybrid working.

  • Manage all financial and accounting functions
  • Monthly Management Accounts
  • Responsible for and oversee Purchase Ledger, Sales Ledger and Payroll.
  • Maintain Sales Ledger including producing sales invoices
  • Cash management
  • Prepare budgets and projections as required
  • Interim & annual tax payment by statutory deadlines
  • VAT Reconciliation, returns & payment before deadline
  • Bank liaison
  • Companies House returns
  • Preparation of end-of-year accounts for audit
  • Other similar office routines as required from time to time.

  • Qualified CIMA/ ACCA / AAT preferred
  • Experience in a similar role
  • Very hands on
  • Strong accounting experience
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • High numeracy and sound technical skills
  • Problem-solving skills and initiative.
