Our £150m Food Production client require an Interim CFO for an initial minimum 6 month period.

The incumbent is leaving on 30 September and there is a requirement for a handover based in the NW near Manchester. Following this the majority of the role can be done from Chichester or remotely.

You will be required to quickly partner with the senior management team and manage the entire finance function within the SME organisation to implement best-practice, and deliver comprehensive, timely and efficient Management Information.

You must be willing to be hands-on within the team, whilst also having gravitas to work alongside the C-suite and influencing key financial decisions.

Primary responsibilities

  • Manage the existing accounts team and ensure the smooth day to day running of the accounts function
  • Maintain and develop a system of accurate and timely financial reporting
  • Overseeing the preparation of monthly management accounts.
  • Preparation and development of weekly and monthly MI and financial reporting pack.
  • Preparation of annual financial budgets and monthly flexed budgets.
  • Cash flow forecasting and management.
  • Manage the Group Treasury function
  • Consider the accounting treatment and tax consequences of future commercial transactions
  • Management of working capital
  • Preparation of interim and annual financial reports.
  • Manage key commercial contracts within the finance function remit
  • Manage corporate relationships with banks, auditors and other parties

  • Experienced Qualified accountant
  • Would be useful to have worked in the FMCG sector
  • Minimum of 5 years at or near CFO level
  • Technically up to date in both IFRS/GAAP and Corporate tax
  • A strong technical accountant with a commercial flair.
  • Capacity to influence and implement change
  • An excellent team player with strong interpersonal skills.
  • The credibility and gravitas to influence at senior levels.
  • Highly refined analytical skills to quickly review and analyse business processes
  • Thorough understanding of business strategy, organisational design and other business functions.
  • Good IT skills including advanced Excel and experience of ERP systems
  • Working knowledge of SAP would be desirable
  • Excellent management and leadership skills.
