Our client is an established manufacturing company based in Bridgwater, Somerset. They are looking to hire a new Buyer to replace the current incumbent who is retiring after 30 years working for the company. This is a part time role, three days a week with hybrid working on offer.
To Liaise with long term suppliers, and maintain excellent working relationships
Manage a buying portfolio of approx £3m per year
Have Excellent experience of SAGE
Negotiate purchase orders
Identification and implementation of cost saving and working capital initiatives
Identify, qualify and implement new and secondary sources of supply or alternative product ranges in order to mitigating supply risk
Liaise with relevant departments
Timely response to suppliers enquiries
Hold review meetings with key suppliers to discuss delivery / quality performance
Support Supplier compliance
Relevant procurement experience within an manufacturing environment
Experience in negotiations with suppliers
Ability to work alone and as part of a team
Excellent experience with developing and maintaining good relationships with suppliers
Demonstrable ability to drive cost down and improve commercial conditions with suppliers
Good IT skills in Word, Excel and SAGE
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
