This management consultancy business is a trusted, independent, and agile consultancy that works closely with a range of public-sector organisations, principally in local and central government. The FP&A Manager will play a pivotal role in the growing business and will be primarily responsible for ensuring the effective resourcing of projects through aligning staff capacity and capabilities with client and company needs. It will also have a role in managing and deploying associate network, reconciling resourcing and financial performance, and project managing key bids.
Finance support:
Liaise with the Finance lead to ensure month-end reconciliation is completed
Keep income and subcontractor cost forecast budgets up to date
Work with job managers to secure POs and ensure correct filing
Monitor outstanding invoices and liaise with accounts’ teams where necessary to resolve issues
Submit monthly project invoices via corresponding frameworks
Report MI to relevant frameworks
Support monthly financial reporting and reconciliation process
Support the annual business planning process to set budgets and financial targets
Monitor creditors and outstanding payments
Ensure appropriate agreements are in place with suppliers
Resource management:
Hold a detailed and accurate understanding of current and projected resource requirements and proactively develop options for resourcing both external and internal projects
Engage with the team to understand experience and skillset to appropriately resource projects
Plan agenda and chair the Operations Board, supporting internal resourcing alongside job managers
Support resource planning and allocation of resources for projects within the job management system
Broker and liaising with job managers to resolve conflicts and develop creative solutions
Escalate resourcing decisions to Leadership as appropriate
dentify spare capacity and develop proposals for productive use of available time
Maintain the management information required by the business
Analyse and report on key metrics to support performance management and decision making
Ensure compliance of key training across the team
Job management and bid support:
Assist with job set up and close down process, ensuring key data is available for monitoring and reporting
Support the bidding process by monitoring deadlines and project managing major / competitive bids and coordinating bid teams where necessary
Ensure key collateral is captured in an effective information management framework and accessible
3+ years’ experience working in a consultancy or equivalent professional services environment
Previous experience acting in a similar role, with resource planning / management being a central focus
A commercial mindset, with the ability to interrogate and understand financial and performance data.
Experience and understanding of utilisation rates, project management and profitability.
Proficiency in Scoro or a similar project management system (e.g. Monday, Asana, Toggl, Zoho)
Intermediate – advanced skills / ability in MS Office suite, in particular PowerPoint, Excel, and Teams
