Our client is a long established engineering business (£4m turnover and very profitable) that are looking for a new Financial Controller. The role could be part time (30 hours p/w) and will include hybrid working. 

There will be a handover with the incumbent who is leaving the business. 

The business is fast growing and they are looking to fill the role ASAP. 


The company has approx 100 employees with a team of one in the accounts department. The FC will oversee all aspects of the Accounts department and report directly to the Directors.

Weekly and Monthly Tasks

  • Processing and Payment of Purchase Invoices
  • Bank Reconciliations
  • Credit Card Charge Processing
  • Accruals and Prepayment calculations and processing
  • Fixed Asset Register Maintenance & depreciation processing
  • Journal Processing
  • Import of Sales Invoice Data into Sage
  • Balance Sheet Reconciliations
  • Payroll processing and payments for circa 80 employees monthly
  • PAYE Reporting
  • Pension reporting
  • Monthly Management Accounts Production
  • Profitability by Client Reporting
  • Profitability by Engineer Reporting
  • Other Tasks
  • Quarterly VAT Return
  • Year End PAyroll Reporting
  • P11 D Reporting
  • Annual Statutory Accounts Reconciliations
  • Ad hoc tasks as necessary
