Have you ever wanted to work within the Grounds of Windsor Castle and attend Royal Events?

This Financial Accountant Role will give you this opportunity. Reporting to the Clerk of Accounts (a title that was bestowed on this incumbent since 1348) your key responsibilities Accountant will include :

  • Production of periodic (monthly) management accounts;
  • Production of periodic (monthly) summary of fund statement;
  • Regularly ensure all bank accounts and control accounts are reconciled and problems or errors resolved;
  • Administration of the accounts receivable and payable functions including banking and payment processing;
  • Production of annual accounts for the Clerk of Accounts and supporting schedules for audit;
  • Liaison with auditors for the year-end audits;
  • Production of annual budgets;
  • Production and submission of quarterly VAT returns;
  • Co-ordination of the Gift Aid administration and submitting half yearly applications to HMRC for Gift Aid;
  • Liaison with the Clerk of Accounts ensuring appropriate insurance arrangements and records are kept;
  • Maintain and update the fixed asset registers and arrange updates on investment asset valuations;
  • Review of accounts payable processes, recommending improvements and implementing any agreed solution.


The ideal Accountant will be have good experience gained in producing Management Accounts with SageLine 50 experience. Desirable experience includes producing or auditing statutory charity accounts with a knowledge of Charity SORP (FRS 102).

The salary on offer is between £40k-£45k with the opportunity to work within the Grounds of Windsor Castle and attend Royal Events. Parking will be provided within the grounds of the Castle
