Finance Manager required for fantastic medium sized NFP organisation in London.  This will report to a Financial Controller in the business. 

The role is hybrid with 2 days in office / 3 remote. On offer is a salary of approx £45k - £55k depending on experience levels

We seek a highly motivated and detail-oriented Finance Manager to join our team. The Finance Manager will oversee various financial functions, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, cash management, bank reconciliation, balance sheet reconciliations, and month-end processes, and lead the month-end process.

The ideal candidate will have experience with the Microsoft Great Plains financial system and manage nominal codes and trial balance. The candidate will support a transformation project for the financial system.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee accounts receivable, accounts payable and Bank processes, ensuring timely and accurate processing of transactions.
  • Oversee cash management, including monitoring cash flow, reviewing cash forecasts, and optimising liquidity.
  • Review bank reconciliations to ensure the accuracy and completeness of financial records.
  • Lead balance sheet reconciliations, identifying and resolving discrepancies in a timely manner.
  • Coordinate month-end closing processes, ensuring all the entries are processed and posted on time.
  • Support the annual audit process, liaising with external auditors and ensuring compliance with audit requirements.
  • Utilise Microsoft Great Plains financial system to effectively manage nominal codes and trial balances for the month-end/year-end process.
  • Oversee fixed assets management, including depreciation calculations and reconciliation.
  • Manage the process and reconciliation of deferred income, accruals, and prepayments.
  • Demonstrate attention to detail while maintaining focus on the big-picture objectives of the organisation.
  • Supporting the financial controller in implementing financial controls and processes and ensuring relevant teams follow these.
  • Provide leadership to the finance team, fostering a collaborative and supportive work environment.
  • Take on ad hoc duties and special projects to support organisational goals.


  • Bachelor’s degree in the accounting or part qualified or finalist in one accounting qualification i.e. ACCA / CIMA.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in finance or accounting roles, with at least 2 years of experience leading a team.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Great Plains financial system or similar accounting software.
  • Strong understanding of double entries for bookkeeping, financial principles, and accounting standards.
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data, investigate and make informed decisions.
  • Proven leadership experience with the ability to effectively lead a team.
  • Detail-oriented mindset with the ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Self-starter with a "get up and go" attitude, unafraid to tackle challenges and explore new opportunities to improve financial processes/controls/system.
