We seek a detail-oriented and enthusiastic Finance Assistant to join our finance team. The Finance Assistant will primarily be responsible for Accounts receivable function, credit control, banking and Charities transactions.

The role is hybrid (2 days in office and 3 remote) and is an initial 6 month temp period before the potential for a permanent position.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Posting of cashbook daily.
  • Prepare income report and post it to GP. Reconciliation of all postings, direct debits, and cash takings.
  • Raising invoices
  • Reconciliation of Debtors report, preparation of subscriptions, direct debits, and customer communications as necessary.
  • Prepare records for Trust, i.e., invoices, bank, VAT, management account / year-end accounts, and audits.
  • Assist with the month-end process, including preparing journal entries, reconciliation and generating financial reports.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, both electronic and manual.
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure timely and efficient completion of tasks.
  • Support
  • Provide necessary cover when other finance staff are on holiday or sick leave.
  • Handle ad hoc duties and special projects as assigned by the finance manager.


  • Some financial qualification or related field qualification is preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and record-keeping.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment, demonstrating flexibility and a willingness to assist others.
  • Enthusiasm for learning new skills and taking on new responsibilities.
  • Experience in Microsoft Office suite, particularly Excel, and experience with accounting software is a plus.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
