Fractional FC / FD required to join an established SME business (approx £6m turnover) on 1-2 day per week basis. The role would be primarily office based and report to the MD with oversight of a full time resource.

The role would be part time, primarily office based (1-2 days per week) and the role would be to provide accounting support to our book keeper, admin and our accountants in the following areas listed below.

Role Overview

Reporting to the MD and working alongside our bookkeeper and admin team, your key responsibilities include:

• Managing SAGE50 accounting and end-to-end payroll
• Monthly reporting, variance analysis, and asset controls
• Overseeing P&L and balance sheet accuracy
• EOY prep for external accountants
• Cover bookkeeper and check monthly numbers
• Supporting financial and HR commitments (e.g., pensions, CIS, RTI)

About You

• Proven SME FC/FD—ideally a part-qualified or qualified accountant with experience overseeing part-time finance teams
• Comfortable working directly with MD/owners and managing outside support
• Strategic yet hands-on; able to balance day-to-day accounting with board-level finance
• Excellent communicator, proactive in identifying control/process improvements
