A well-established and ISO-certified professional services firm with a reputation for excellence is looking for a Practice Director to run its Manchester Offices. The business prides itself on helping clients grow and succeed through tailored accounting, audit, tax, advisory, and corporate finance services. With a national presence, they focus on providing practical, high-quality solutions that deliver measurable results.

The Practice Director will lead and manage the firm’s accounting practice, driving growth and ensuring the delivery of high-quality client services. You’ll play a key strategic role in developing business direction, leading a talented team, and maintaining strong client relationships across a broad service offering.

This is a senior leadership role requiring experience across tax, audit, advisory, and corporate finance. You will be responsible for setting strategic goals, mentoring your team, identifying business opportunities, and ensuring regulatory compliance while fostering innovation and operational excellence.

  • Develop and implement strategic plans in line with organisational objectives.

  • 10+ years in accounting with at least 5 years in a leadership role within an SME environment.
  • Professional qualifications (CPA, ACCA, ICAEW) 
  • Strong leadership, communication, and analytical ability. Proven success in team management and client relationship building.
  • In-depth understanding of accounting practices, financial regulations, and industry trends.
  • Detail-oriented and precise in managing complex financial matters.
  • Client-focused, results-driven, and commercially astute.
  • Collaborative leader with a positive, motivating management style.
