Our client is entering a period of due diligence in support of a potential sale. We are seeking an experienced finance professional to provide advanced, hands-on support to our Finance function during this critical phase. This role is ideal for someone with strong M&A, due diligence, and transaction experience who can integrate seamlessly into an established team.

The successful candidate will work closely with our CEO, Commercial Director, Finance Manager, and leadership team—ensuring that information, expertise, and operational insights are gathered efficiently without disrupting day-to-day business activity.

Contract Details

  • Length: 6 months (with potential extension)
  • Location: Hybrid / Hammersmith Office
  • Start: Immediate or ASAP
  • Future: Potential transition into full CFO role



Due Diligence & Transaction Support

  • Serve as a primary finance contact for all transaction-related queries.
  • Coordinate, prepare, and validate financial information for buyer, investor, and advisor due diligence.
  • Manage and update virtual data room materials.
  • Draft and review responses to financial Q&A.
  • Liaise effectively with external advisors (corporate finance, legal, tax).

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work in close partnership with the Commercial Director to gather commercial insights, performance data, and operational detail required for diligence.
  • Build strong, respectful relationships across the business to access information and expertise efficiently.
  • Integrate into the existing team quickly and confidently, ensuring support for the DD process without placing unnecessary burden on operational teams.
  • Audit & Process Review

  • Review financial processes, reconciliations, and reporting outputs.
  • Identify areas for improvement in controls and governance.
  • Implement practical enhancements and document processes to meet investor expectations.

Reporting & MI

  • Strengthen management reporting to ensure clarity and readiness for investor scrutiny.
  • Produce financial packs, cashflow models, and performance analysis.
  • Support forecasting, scenario modelling, and commercial analysis relating to the transaction.

Business Partnering

  • Work closely with the CEO and leadership team to provide clear financial insight.
  • Communicate complex financial matters in a simple, concise way.
  • Support the finance team in managing additional workload created by the sale process.


Essential Experience

  • Strong M&A, financial due diligence, or transaction services background.
  • Experience supporting sale or investment processes within scaling businesses or SMEs.
  • Solid technical accounting knowledge (UK GAAP, FRS 102).
  • Confident working in agile, lean finance environments.
