Our client is an established construction company based in the City of London, known for delivering high-quality projects across restoration, refurbishment and specialist contracting. As the business continues to grow, the finance team is expanding to strengthen reporting, compliance and operational efficiency.

We’re seeking an experienced Purchase Ledger Assistant. The successful candidate will take ownership of core P/L accounting tasks, ensure full compliance with CIS requirements, and be an expert on Sage50.

This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys variety, autonomy and working within a friendly, professional office environment.


  • Manage purchase ledger for external suppliers
  • Prepare monthly supplier statement reconciliations
  • HMRC Construction Industry Scheme (CIS) monthly submissions and reconciliations
  • Prepare weekly / monthly  payment runs to agreed terms
  • Ensure timely resolution of invoice queries to keep query log to a minimum
  • Contribution to any adhoc team projects which may arise


  • Previous purchase ledger experience is required and a good understanding of the accounts payable function
  • Accuracy and strong attention to detail
  • The ability to manage a busy workload independently and work to monthly deadlines
  • Ability to communicate effectively with internal and external clients and be able to build good working relationships
  • knowledge of SAGE, Excel
  • CIS Scheme knowledge
